Since now the generic console_t structure holds the UART base address as well, let's use that generic location and drop the UART driver specific data structure at all. Change-Id: I75dbfafb67849833b3f7b5047e237651e3f553cd Signed-off-by: Andre Przywara <andre.przywara@arm.com>

There are chances a denial-of-service attack, if an attacker removes the SPE firmware from the system. The console driver would end up waiting for the firmware to respond indefinitely. The console driver must detect such scenarios and uninit the interface as a result. This patch adds a timeout to the interaction with the SPE firmware and uninits the interface if it times out. This patch udpates the SPE console driver to prepend '\r' to '\n'. This fixes the alignment of prints seen by the host machines on their UART ports. Tested by collecting the logs from host PC using Cutecom Reported by: Mustafa Bilgen <mbilgen@nvidia.com> Change-Id: I6e0b412bd71ff5eb889582071df8c157da5175ed Signed-off-by: Varun Wadekar <vwadekar@nvidia.com>

There are Tegra platforms which have limited UART ports and so all the components have to share the console. The SPE helps out by collecting all the logs in such cases and prints them on the shared UART port. This patch adds a driver to communicate with the SPE driver, which in turn provides the console. This function ensures that console output is flushed, for example before shutting down or use by another component In line with other console APIs, console_flush() wraps console_core_flush(). Also implement console_core_flush() for PL011. Change-Id: I3db365065e4de04a454a5c2ce21be335a23a01e4 Signed-off-by: Antonio Nino Diaz <antonio.ninodiaz@arm.com>

This patch moves the various assembly console drivers into `aarch64` architecture specific folder. Stub files, which include files from new location, are retained at the original location for platform compatibility reasons. Change-Id: I0069b6c1c0489ca47f5204d4e26e3bc3def533a8

This patch changes the type of the base address parameter in the ARM device driver APIs to uintptr_t (GIC, CCI, TZC400, PL011). The uintptr_t type allows coverage of the whole memory space and to perform arithmetic operations on the addresses. ARM platform code has also been updated to use uintptr_t as GIC base address in the configuration. Fixes ARM-software/tf-issues#214 Change-Id: I1b87daedadcc8b63e8f113477979675e07d788f1

Separate out the common console functionality in `drivers/arm/pl011/pl011_console.S` into a new source file `drivers/console/console.S`. The former includes the latter to provide backwards compatibility for platform make files. Also add a skeleton console implementation for platforms that do not want to use PL011. In order for the symbol table in the ELF file to contain the size of functions written in assembly, it is necessary to report it to the assembler using the .size directive. To fulfil the above requirements, this patch introduces an 'endfunc' macro which contains the .endfunc and .size directives. It also adds a .func directive to the 'func' assembler macro. The .func/.endfunc have been used so the assembler can fail if endfunc is omitted. This patch adds baud rate and UART clock frequency as parameters to the pl011 driver api console_init(). This allows each platform to specify UART clock and baud rate according to their specific hardware implementation. This patch replaces the pl011 console family of functions with their equivalents defined in assembly. The baud rate is defined by the PL011_BAUDRATE macro and IBRD and FBRD values for pl011 are computed statically. This patch will enable us to invoke the console functions without the C Runtime Stack.
