      AArch32: Support in SP_MIN to receive arguments from BL2 · d9915518
      Yatharth Kochar authored
      This patch adds support in SP_MIN to receive generic and
      platform specific arguments from BL2.

      The new signature is as following:
          void sp_min_early_platform_setup(void *from_bl2,
               void *plat_params_from_bl2);

      ARM platforms have been modified to use this support.

      Note: Platforms may break if using old signature.
            Default value for RESET_TO_SP_MIN is changed to 0.

      AArch32: add a minimal secure payload (SP_MIN) · c11ba852
      Soby Mathew authored
      This patch adds a minimal AArch32 secure payload SP_MIN. It relies on PSCI
      library to initialize the normal world context. It runs in Monitor mode
      and uses the runtime service framework to handle SMCs. It is added as
      a BL32 component in the Trusted Firmware source tree.

      AArch32: Add support to PSCI lib · 727e5238
      Soby Mathew authored
      This patch adds AArch32 support to PSCI library, as follows :

      * The `psci_helpers.S` is implemented for AArch32.

      * AArch32 version of internal helper function `psci_get_ns_ep_info()` is
        defined.

      * The PSCI Library is responsible for the Non Secure context initialization.
        Hence a library interface `psci_prepare_next_non_secure_ctx()` is introduced
        to enable EL3 runtime firmware to initialize the non secure context without
        invoking context management library APIs.

      Introduce PSCI Library Interface · cf0b1492
      Soby Mathew authored
      This patch introduces the PSCI Library interface. The major changes
      introduced are as follows:

      * Earlier BL31 was responsible for Architectural initialization during cold
      boot via bl31_arch_setup() whereas PSCI was responsible for the same during
      warm boot. This functionality is now consolidated by the PSCI library
      and it does Architectural initialization via psci_arch_setup() during both
      cold and warm boots.

      * Earlier the warm boot entry point was always `psci_entrypoint()`. This was
      not flexible enough as a library interface. Now PSCI expects the runtime
      firmware to provide the entry point via `psci_setup()`. A new function
      `bl31_warm_entrypoint` is introduced in BL31 and the previous
      `psci_entrypoint()` is deprecated.

      * The `smc_helpers.h` is reorganized to separate the SMC Calling Convention
      defines from the Trusted Firmware SMC helpers. The former is now in a new
      header file `smcc.h` and the SMC helpers are moved to Architecture specific
      header.

      * The CPU context is used by PSCI for context initialization and
      restoration after power down (PSCI Context). It is also used by BL31 for SMC
      handling and context management during Normal-Secure world switch (SMC
      Context). The `psci_smc_handler()` interface is redefined to not use SMC
      helper macros thus enabling to decouple the PSCI context from EL3 runtime
      firmware SMC context. This enables PSCI to be integrated with other runtime
      firmware using a different SMC context.

      NOTE: With this patch the architectural setup done in `bl31_arch_setup()`
      is done as part of `psci_setup()` and hence `bl31_platform_setup()` will be
      invoked prior to architectural setup. It is highly unlikely that the platform
      setup will depend on architectural setup and cause any failure. Please be
      be aware of this change in sequence.

      Introduce `el3_runtime` and `PSCI` libraries · 532ed618
      Soby Mathew authored
      This patch moves the PSCI services and BL31 frameworks like context
      management and per-cpu data into new library components `PSCI` and
      `el3_runtime` respectively. This enables PSCI to be built independently from
      BL31. A new `psci_lib.mk` makefile is introduced which adds the relevant
      PSCI library sources and gets included by `bl31.mk`. Other changes which
      are done as part of this patch are:

      * The runtime services framework is now moved to the `common/` folder to
        enable reuse.
      * The `asm_macros.S` and `assert_macros.S` helpers are moved to architecture
        specific folder.
      * The `plat_psci_common.c` is moved from the `plat/common/aarch64/` folder
        to `plat/common` folder. The original file location now has a stub which
        just includes the file from new location to maintain platform compatibility.

      Most of the changes wouldn't affect platform builds as they just involve
      changes to the generic bl1.mk and bl31.mk makefiles.

      NOTE: THE `plat_psci_common.c` FILE HAS MOVED LOCATION AND THE STUB FILE AT
      THE ORIGINAL LOCATION IS NOW DEPRECATED. PLATFORMS SHOULD MODIFY THEIR
      MAKEFILES TO INCLUDE THE FILE FROM THE NEW LOCATION.

      TBB: add platform API to read the ROTPK information · 95cfd4ad
      Juan Castillo authored
      This patch extends the platform port by adding an API that returns
      either the Root of Trust public key (ROTPK) or its hash. This is
      usually stored in ROM or eFUSE memory. The ROTPK returned must be
      encoded in DER format according to the following ASN.1 structure:

          SubjectPublicKeyInfo  ::=  SEQUENCE  {
              algorithm           AlgorithmIdentifier,
              subjectPublicKey    BIT STRING
          }

      In case the platform returns a hash of the key:

          DigestInfo  ::= SEQUENCE {
              digestAlgorithm     AlgorithmIdentifier,
              keyDigest           OCTET STRING
          }

      An implementation for ARM development platforms is provided in this
      patch. When TBB is enabled, the ROTPK hash location must be specified
      using the build option 'ARM_ROTPK_LOCATION'. Available options are:

          - 'regs' : return the ROTPK hash stored in the Trusted
            root-key storage registers.

          - 'devel_rsa' : return a ROTPK hash embedded in the BL1 and
            BL2 binaries. This hash has been obtained from the development
            RSA public key located in 'plat/arm/board/common/rotpk'.

      On FVP, the number of MMU tables has been increased to map and
      access the ROTPK registers.

      A new file 'board_common.mk' has been added to improve code sharing
      in the ARM develelopment platforms.

      Add common ARM and CSS platform code · b4315306
      Dan Handley authored
      This major change pulls out the common functionality from the
      FVP and Juno platform ports into the following categories:

      * (include/)plat/common. Common platform porting functionality that
      typically may be used by all platforms.

      * (include/)plat/arm/common. Common platform porting functionality
      that may be used by all ARM standard platforms. This includes all
      ARM development platforms like FVP and Juno but may also include
      non-ARM-owned platforms.

      *   (include/)plat/arm/board/common. Common platform porting
      functionality for ARM development platforms at the board
      (off SoC) level.

      *   (include/)plat/arm/css/common. Common platform porting
      functionality at the ARM Compute SubSystem (CSS) level. Juno
      is an example of a CSS-based platform.

      *   (include/)plat/arm/soc/common. Common platform porting
      functionality at the ARM SoC level, which is not already defined
      at the ARM CSS level.

      No guarantees are made about the backward compatibility of
      functionality provided in (include/)plat/arm.

      Also remove any unnecessary variation between the ARM development
      platform ports, including:

      * Unify the way BL2 passes `bl31_params_t` to BL3-1. Use the
      Juno implementation, which copies the information from BL2 memory
      instead of expecting it to persist in shared memory.

      * Unify the TZC configuration. There is no need to add a region
      for SCP in Juno; it's enough to simply not allow any access to
      this reserved region. Also set region 0 to provide no access by
      default instead of assuming this is the case.

      * Unify the number of memory map regions required for ARM
      development platforms, although the actual ranges mapped for each
      platform may be different. For the FVP port, this reduces the
      mapped peripheral address space.

      These latter changes will only be observed when the platform ports
      are migrated to use the new common platform code in subsequent
      patches.

      This change requires all platforms to now specify a list of source files
      rather than object files.

      New source files should preferably be specified by using the path as
      well and we should add this in the future for all files so we can remove
      use of vpath. This is desirable because vpath hides issues like the fact
      that BL2 currently pulls in a BL1 file bl1/aarch64/early_exceptions.S
      and if in the future we added bl2/aarch64/early_exceptions.S then it's
      likely only one of the two version would be used for both bootloaders.

      This change also removes the 'dump' build target and simply gets
      bootloaders to always generate a dump file. At the same time the -x
      option is added so the section headers and symbols table are listed.

      Factor out translation table setup in ARM FVP port · a0cd989d
      Achin Gupta authored
      This patch factors out the ARM FVP specific code to create MMU
      translation tables so that it is possible for a boot loader stage to
      create a different set of tables instead of using the default ones.
      The default translation tables are created with the assumption that
      the calling boot loader stage executes out of secure SRAM. This might
      not be true for the BL3_2 stage in the future.

      A boot loader stage can define the `fill_xlation_tables()` function as
      per its requirements. It returns a reference to the level 1
      translation table which is used by the common platform code to setup
      the TTBR_EL3.

      This patch is a temporary solution before a larger rework of
      translation table creation logic is introduced.
