The base address for second DRAM varies across different platforms. So allow platforms to define second DRAM by moving Juno/SGM-775 specific definition of second DRAM base address to Juno/SGM-775 board definition respectively, SGI/RD specific definition of DRAM 2 base address to SGI board definition. NOTE: __ASSEMBLY__ macro is now deprecated in favor of __ASSEMBLER__. All common C compilers predefine a macro called __ASSEMBLER__ when preprocessing a .S file. There is no reason for TF-A to define it's own __ASSEMBLY__ macro for this purpose instead. To unify code with the export headers (which use __ASSEMBLER__ to avoid one extra dependency), let's deprecate __ASSEMBLY__ and switch the code base over to the predefined standard. The default DRAM2 base address for Arm platforms is 0x880000000. However, on some platforms the firmware may want to move the start address to a different value. To support this introduce PLAT_ARM_DRAM2_BASE that defaults to 0x880000000; but can be overridden by a platform (e.g. in platform_def.h). Enforce full include path for includes. Deprecate old paths. The following folders inside include/lib have been left unchanged: - include/lib/cpus/${ARCH} - include/lib/el3_runtime/${ARCH} The reason for this change is that having a global namespace for includes isn't a good idea. It defeats one of the advantages of having folders and it introduces problems that are sometimes subtle (because you may not know the header you are actually including if there are two of them). For example, this patch had to be created because two headers were called the same way: e0ea0928 ("Fix gpio includes of mt8173 platform to avoid collision."). More recently, this patch has had similar problems: 46f9b2c3 ("drivers: add tzc380 support"). This problem was introduced in commit 4ecca339 ("Move include and source files to logical locations"). At that time, there weren't too many headers so it wasn't a real issue. However, time has shown that this creates problems. Platforms that want to preserve the way they include headers may add the removed paths to PLAT_INCLUDES, but this is discouraged. All identifiers, regardless of use, that start with two underscores are reserved. This means they can't be used in header guards. The style that this project is now to use the full name of the file in capital letters followed by 'H'. For example, for a file called "uart_example.h", the header guard is UART_EXAMPLE_H. The exceptions are files that are imported from other projects: - CryptoCell driver - dt-bindings folders - zlib headers Change-Id: I50561bf6c88b491ec440d0c8385c74650f3c106e Signed-off-by: Antonio Nino Diaz <antonio.ninodiaz@arm.com>

This file is shared between FVP and all CSS platforms. While it may be true that some definitions can be common, it doesn't make sense conceptually. For example, the stack size depends on the platform and so does the SRAM size. After removing them, there are not enough common definitions to justify having this header, so the other definitions have been moved to the platform_def.h of FVP, board_css_def.h and arm_def.h. utils.h is included in various header files for the defines in it. Some of the other header files only contain defines. This allows the header files to be shared between host and target builds for shared defines. Recently types.h has been included in utils.h as well as some function prototypes. Because of the inclusion of types.h conflicts exist building host tools abd these header files now. To solve this problem, move the defines to utils_def.h and have this included by utils.h and change header files to only include utils_def.h and not pick up the new types.h being introduced. Some header files using the ULL() macro were not directly including utils.h where the macro definition resides. As a consequence, a linker script with values using this macro did not see the macro definition and kept the "ULL(<value>)" call in the preprocessed file, which lead to link error. Files using ULL() macro now include utils.h directly. Change-Id: I433a7f36bd21a156c20e69bc2a2bb406140ebdf9 Signed-off-by: Douglas Raillard <douglas.raillard@arm.com>

With GCC 6.2 compiler, more C undefined behaviour is being flagged as warnings, which result in build errors in ARM TF build. The specific issue that this patch resolves is the use of (1 << 31), which is predominantly used in case statements, where 1 is represented as a signed int. When shifted to msb the behaviour is undefined. The resolution is to specify 1 as an unsigned int using a convenience macro ULL(). A duplicate macro MAKE_ULL() is replaced. This patch overrides the default weak definition of `bl31_plat_runtime_setup()` for ARM Standard platforms to specify a BL31 runtime console. ARM Standard platforms are now expected to define `PLAT_ARM_BL31_RUN_UART_BASE` and `PLAT_ARM_BL31_RUN_UART_CLK_IN_HZ` macros which is required by `arm_bl31_plat_runtime_setup()` to initialize the runtime console. The system suspend resume helper `arm_system_pwr_domain_resume()` is fixed to initialize the runtime console rather than the boot console on resumption from system suspend. This major change pulls out the common functionality from the FVP and Juno platform ports into the following categories: * (include/)plat/common. Common platform porting functionality that typically may be used by all platforms. * (include/)plat/arm/common. Common platform porting functionality that may be used by all ARM standard platforms. This includes all ARM development platforms like FVP and Juno but may also include non-ARM-owned platforms. * (include/)plat/arm/board/common. Common platform porting functionality for ARM development platforms at the board (off SoC) level. * (include/)plat/arm/css/common. Common platform porting functionality at the ARM Compute SubSystem (CSS) level. Juno is an example of a CSS-based platform. * (include/)plat/arm/soc/common. Common platform porting functionality at the ARM SoC level, which is not already defined at the ARM CSS level. No guarantees are made about the backward compatibility of functionality provided in (include/)plat/arm. Also remove any unnecessary variation between the ARM development platform ports, including: * Unify the way BL2 passes `bl31_params_t` to BL3-1. Use the Juno implementation, which copies the information from BL2 memory instead of expecting it to persist in shared memory. * Unify the TZC configuration. There is no need to add a region for SCP in Juno; it's enough to simply not allow any access to this reserved region. Also set region 0 to provide no access by default instead of assuming this is the case. * Unify the number of memory map regions required for ARM development platforms, although the actual ranges mapped for each platform may be different. For the FVP port, this reduces the mapped peripheral address space. These latter changes will only be observed when the platform ports are migrated to use the new common platform code in subsequent patches. Change-Id: Id9c269dd3dc6e74533d0e5116fdd826d53946dc8

Commit ea4ec3aa ("TBB: use SHA256 to generate the certificate signatures") updated the cert_create tool to generate the signatures using SHA256 instead of SHA1. Therefore, SHA1 is no longer required. This patch removes the SHA1 option from the PolarSSL configuration file. The source file sha1.c is no longer needed and has been excluded from the build. The SHA1 functions are no longer included in the binary, reducing the memory footprint of BL1 and BL2 by approximately 6 KB. Change-Id: I72ea2cff03c0964c3eaadce148ec2ad2c6dde2e3

This patch implements an authentication module based on the PolarSSL library (v1.3.9) to verify the Chain of Trust when Trusted Boot is enabled. PolarSSL sources must be fetched separately. The POLARSSL_DIR build option may be used to indicate the path to the PolarSSL main directory (this directory must contain the 'include' and 'library' subdirectories). To be able to build PolarSSL sources as a part of the Trusted Firmware build process, the DISABLE_PEDANTIC flag in polarssl.mk will tell the build system to remove the -pedantic option from the CFLAGS. Inclusion of PolarSSL increases the memory requirements of the BL1 and BL2 images. The following are the changes made to the FVP and Juno platforms to cater for this when TRUSTED_BOARD_BOOT is defined: Changes on FVP: - BL1 and BL2 stacks have been increased to 4 KB - BL1(rw) section has been increased to 32 KB. - BL2 memory region has been increased to 112 KB Changes on Juno: - BL1 and BL2 stacks have been increased to 4 KB - BL1(rw) section has been increased to 32 KB. - Trusted ROM region in Flash has been increased to 128 KB. - BL2 memory region has been increased to 116 KB Change-Id: Ie87d80d43408eb6239c4acd0ec5ab2120e4e9e80

This patch adds a tool that generates all the necessary elements to establish the chain of trust (CoT) between the images. The tool reads the binary images and signing keys and outputs the corresponding certificates that will be used by the target at run time to verify the authenticity of the images. Note: the platform port must provide the file platform_oid.h. This file will define the OIDs of the x509 extensions that will be added to the certificates in order to establish the CoT. Previously, the enable_mmu_elX() functions were implicitly part of the platform porting layer since they were included by generic code. These functions have been placed behind 2 new platform functions, bl31_plat_enable_mmu() and bl32_plat_enable_mmu(). These are weakly defined so that they can be optionally overridden by platform ports. Also, the enable_mmu_elX() functions have been moved to lib/aarch64/xlat_tables.c for optional re-use by platform ports. These functions are tightly coupled with the translation table initialization code. Fixes ARM-software/tf-issues#152 Change-Id: I0a2251ce76acfa3c27541f832a9efaa49135cc1c

Update code base to remove variables from the .data section, mainly by using const static data where possible and adding the const specifier as required. Most changes are to the IO subsystem, including the framework APIs. The FVP power management code is also affected. Delay initialization of the global static variable, next_image_type in bl31_main.c, until it is realy needed. Doing this moves the variable from the .data to the .bss section. Also review the IO interface for inconsistencies, using uintptr_t where possible instead of void *. Remove the io_handle and io_dev_handle typedefs, which were unnecessary, replacing instances with uintptr_t. Fixes ARM-software/tf-issues#107. Change-Id: I085a62197c82410b566e4698e5590063563ed304

The modified implementation uses the IO abstraction rather than making direct semi-hosting calls. The semi-hosting driver is now registered for the FVP platform during initialisation of each boot stage where it is used. Additionally, the FVP platform includes a straightforward implementation of 'plat_get_image_source' which provides a generic means for the 'load_image' function to determine how to access the image data.
