There are a number or ARMv7 Rockchip SoCs that are very similar in their bringup routines to the existing arm64 SoCs, so there is quite a high commonality possible here. Things like virtualization also need psci and hyp-mode and instead of trying to cram this into bootloaders like u-boot, barebox or coreboot (all used in the field), re-use the existing infrastructure in TF-A for this (both Rockchip plat support and armv7 support in general). So add core support for aarch32 Rockchip SoCs, with actual soc support following in a separate patch. Enforce full include path for includes. Deprecate old paths. The following folders inside include/lib have been left unchanged: - include/lib/cpus/${ARCH} - include/lib/el3_runtime/${ARCH} The reason for this change is that having a global namespace for includes isn't a good idea. It defeats one of the advantages of having folders and it introduces problems that are sometimes subtle (because you may not know the header you are actually including if there are two of them). For example, this patch had to be created because two headers were called the same way: e0ea0928 ("Fix gpio includes of mt8173 platform to avoid collision."). More recently, this patch has had similar problems: 46f9b2c3 ("drivers: add tzc380 support"). This problem was introduced in commit 4ecca339 ("Move include and source files to logical locations"). At that time, there weren't too many headers so it wasn't a real issue. However, time has shown that this creates problems. Platforms that want to preserve the way they include headers may add the removed paths to PLAT_INCLUDES, but this is discouraged. This patch changes all Rockchip platforms to use the new MULTI_CONSOLE_API. The platform-specific plat_crash_console implementations are removed so that the platform can use the ones from the common platform code instead. Also change the registers used in plat_crash_print_regs. The existing use of x16 and x17 has always been illegal, since those registers are reserved for use by the linker as a temporary scratch registers in intra-procedure-call veneers and can never be expected to maintain their values across a function call. The current Rockchip platform code retains the "common" default panic handler which simply hangs the system (until the watchdog kicks in, if enabled). This is usually not a great user experience. This patch implements a Rockchip-specific panic handler that calls the platform's reboot implementation to reset the system. Assembler programmers are used to being able to define functions with a specific aligment with a pattern like this: .align X myfunction: However, this pattern is subtly broken when instead of a direct label like 'myfunction:', you use the 'func myfunction' macro that's standard in Trusted Firmware. Since the func macro declares a new section for the function, the .align directive written above it actually applies to the *previous* section in the assembly file, and the function it was supposed to apply to is linked with default alignment. An extreme case can be seen in Rockchip's plat_helpers.S which contains this code: [...] endfunc plat_crash_console_putc .align 16 func platform_cpu_warmboot [...] This assembles into the following plat_helpers.o: Sections: Idx Name Size [...] Algn 9 .text.plat_crash_console_putc 00010000 [...] 2**16 10 .text.platform_cpu_warmboot 00000080 [...] 2**3 As can be seen, the *previous* function actually got the alignment constraint, and it is also 64KB big even though it contains only two instructions, because the .align directive at the end of its section forces the assembler to insert a giant sled of NOPs. The function we actually wanted to align has the default constraint. This code only works at all because the linker just happens to put the two functions right behind each other when linking the final image, and since the end of plat_crash_console_putc is aligned the start of platform_cpu_warmboot will also be. But it still wastes almost 64KB of image space unnecessarily, and it will break under certain circumstances (e.g. if the plat_crash_console_putc function becomes unused and its section gets garbage-collected out). There's no real way to fix this with the existing func macro. Code like func myfunc .align X happens to do the right thing, but is still not really correct code (because the function label is inserted before the .align directive, so the assembler is technically allowed to insert padding at the beginning of the function which would then get executed as instructions if the function was called). Therefore, this patch adds a new parameter with a default value to the func macro that allows overriding its alignment. Also fix up all existing instances of this dangerous antipattern. Added a new platform porting function plat_panic_handler, to allow platforms to handle unexpected error situations. It must be implemented in assembly as it may be called before the C environment is initialized. A default implementation is provided, which simply spins. Corrected all dead loops in generic code to call this function instead. This includes the dead loop that occurs at the end of the call to panic(). All unnecesary wfis from bl32/tsp/aarch64/tsp_exceptions.S have been removed. Change-Id: I67cb85f6112fa8e77bd62f5718efcef4173d8134

This patch splits the Juno reset handler in 4 distinct pieces: - Detection of the board revision; - Juno R0 specific handler; - Juno R1 specific handler; - Juno R2 specific handler. Depending on the board revision, the appropriate handler is called. This makes the code easier to understand and maintain. This patch is mainly cosmetic. The only functional change introduced is that the Juno platform reset handler will now spin infinitely if the board revision is not recognised. Previously, it would have assumed that it was running on Juno R1 in this case. Change-Id: I54ed77c4665085ead9d1573316c9c884d7d3ffa0

Currently all ARM CSS platforms which include css_helpers.S use the same strong definition of `plat_arm_calc_core_pos`. This patch allows these CSS platforms to define their own strong definition of this function. * Replace the strong definition of `plat_arm_calc_core_pos` in css_helpers.S with a utility function `css_calc_core_pos_swap_cluster` does the same thing (swaps cluster IDs). ARM CSS platforms may choose to use this function or not. * Add a Juno strong definition of `plat_arm_calc_core_pos`, which uses `css_calc_core_pos_swap_cluster`. This patch removes the FIRST_RESET_HANDLER_CALL build flag and its use in ARM development platforms. If a different reset handling behavior is required between the first and subsequent invocations of the reset handling code, this should be detected at runtime. On Juno, the platform reset handler is now always compiled in. This means it is now executed twice on the cold boot path, first in BL1 then in BL3-1, and it has the same behavior in both cases. It is also executed twice on the warm boot path, first in BL1 then in the PSCI entrypoint code. Also update the documentation to reflect this change. NOTE: THIS PATCH MAY FORCE PLATFORM PORTS THAT USE THE FIRST_RESET_HANDLER_CALL BUILD OPTION TO FIX THEIR RESET HANDLER. Change-Id: Ie5c17dbbd0932f5fa3b446efc6e590798a5beae2

Major update to the Juno platform port to use the common platform code in (include/)plat/arm/* and (include/)plat/common/*. This mainly consists of removing duplicated code but also introduces some small behavioural changes where there was unnecessary variation between the FVP and Juno ports. See earlier commit titled `Add common ARM and CSS platform code` for details. Also move the ARM SoC specific security setup (i.e. NIC-400 and PCIe initialization) from BL1 to `plat_arm_security_setup()` in BL2, where the other security setup is done. In order for the symbol table in the ELF file to contain the size of functions written in assembly, it is necessary to report it to the assembler using the .size directive. To fulfil the above requirements, this patch introduces an 'endfunc' macro which contains the .endfunc and .size directives. It also adds a .func directive to the 'func' assembler macro. The .func/.endfunc have been used so the assembler can fail if endfunc is omitted. For Juno r0, the platform reset handler needs to: - Implement the workaround for defect #831273 - Increase the L2 Data and Tag RAM latencies for Cortex-A57. Defect #831273 does not affect Juno r1. Also, the default value for the L2 Tag RAM latency for Cortex-A57 is suitable on Juno r1. The L2 Data RAM latency for Cortex-A57 still needs to be increased, though. This patch modifies the Juno platform reset handler to detect the board revision and skip the unnecessary steps on Juno r1. The behaviour on Juno r0 is unchanged. This patch adds support to call the reset_handler() function in BL3-1 in the cold and warm boot paths when another Boot ROM reset_handler() has already run. This means the BL1 and BL3-1 versions of the CPU and platform specific reset handlers may execute different code to each other. This enables a developer to perform additional actions or undo actions already performed during the first call of the reset handlers e.g. apply additional errata workarounds. Typically, the reset handler will be first called from the BL1 Boot ROM. Any additional functionality can be added to the reset handler when it is called from BL3-1 resident in RW memory. The constant FIRST_RESET_HANDLER_CALL is used to identify whether this is the first version of the reset handler code to be executed or an overridden version of the code. The Cortex-A57 errata workarounds are applied only if they have not already been applied. Fixes ARM-software/tf-issue#275 Change-Id: Id295f106e4fda23d6736debdade2ac7f2a9a9053
